From Detroit to Traverse City, and on to Mackinac Island I strive to capture the wonderful images of the landscapes and people of Michigan. For the last 15 years those images have been painted primarily in miniature. I love the intimacy of an image that can be held in your hand while relaxing in an easy chair. It reminds me of a good book that you never want to end.
My husband and I travel the back roads of Michigan in our Jeep, with camera in hand anticipating what is around the corner. Camping provides the beautiful sunrises and sunsets that warm the architecture I love to paint. We also enjoy staying on Mackinac Island and visiting with all the wonderful friends we have made over the years. Recently I have added Detroit as a secondary focus of my work. In the future I am planning a series of paintings of Detroit such as Eastern Market and auto related images.
My work has been exhibited throughout the United States at many prestigious galleries including The Smithsonian in Washington D.C. and The Scarab Club in Detroit, where I am a member. Publications include The Scarab Club, Ford World, Top 100 Artists in Huron Valley and American Art Collector.
